Personal Project

Q: As a part of a photography production, you are responsible for one role (taking photos). What is the significance of your role as a photographer? What kind of power do you have?

A: So, one of my strengths is that I can take nice photos of the city. And one example that I will show below is photos that I took before I was at St. Eds. I was in Brooklyn, New York and I was able to take nice photos of the city with cool lights. Another thing I can do is I will try to go to a specific area so I can take nice photos, I did it once, The time I did it is when I was waiting at a block break on a rollercoaster and I sneakily took my phone out since I saw this coaster with cool lights and fog, so I took it out and shoot the photo, it was really cool but I was able to do it without getting caught too. Those are the powers that I can do with this Photography project!

Q: Tell us WHAT you intend to create and WHY--what, in other words, will keep you personally invested in this project and why do you want to devote time to it? What is the story and significance behind the photos that you would like to take?

A: I would create cool photo effects like motion, for example, putting cool lights, moving the lights around, and using cool lights like using RGB for moving lights, and yeah, that would be very cool and that can be possible! I would devote time to it because as I said before, it looks really cool and I would like to recreate it if I have the time to do it. Also, I would have some time with night photography, I would recreate some cool elements with the city lights and the city itself, and I think that would look cool if I were to do that, which I might but yeah. My story behind the photo I would like to take is that I like taking cool photos and yeah.

Q: Who do you imagine you’ll be doing your photography for? How does that change or impact how you’ll go about designing your project?

A: I would do photography for fun, I only said that because I like taking photos of cool and innovative stuff that makes the photo unique and I think taking unique shots would make you look like a pretty cool photographer, which I think is pretty awesome, to say the least, and yeah. I think it will change the fact that my project will all be about cool RGB colors by changing the shutter speed to slow so I can take effect on the shot and also changing the iso so the shot isn't too bright also, it would impact the design which also is the RGB light and also the night photography shot since its kinda the same thing but the shutter speed wouldn’t be affected and only the ISO will be different.

Q: As far as WHERE you’re going, what spaces might you need to gain access to complete your product successfully? WHERE do you plan to go? How will you safely gain access to what you need?

A: I would make sure there are no trespassing signs and also I would make sure that the area that I'm at isn’t filled with people who might cause harm to me. I said that I wanted to take a night photography shot at the city so I honestly don’t need anything to protect myself, maybe a knife since there are bad people in the world but that’s a pretty lame thing to say since carrying a knife is kinder illegal in the world, but hey, safety is our top priority so yeah. That’s all that I have to say, I’m not thinking about going inside abandoned areas but if I were to go inside an abandoned area, then I would carry a flashlight, and some protective clothes, since the abandoned areas are 100% not secured so if I were to get into that situation, then, Ummm, Idk, I’ll probably be dead, so yeah. That's all that I’m going to say.

Q: Discuss articles, websites, individuals, films, or companies you have analyzed or talked about to help formulate your idea/product.

A: I found an article that might help with my idea which is to take night photography of Cleveland, Ohio! First is to have a sturdy tripod, and the reason why is because taking photographs in dim conditions requires long exposures, which means that the camera has to be steady at all times. The second is manual focus because autofocus wouldn’t be able to be especially evident when taking pictures at night when the camera struggles to adjust because it’s dark. Using manual focus ensures your camera doesn’t randomly focus on any part of the scene you’re photographing. The third is to use low ISO because using ISO can increase the noise in the image, so the best way to get a night shot is to use a slower shutter speed and wider apertures. ISO 100 may be impractical for night photography but ISO 400, 800, or even ISO 1600 should be enough in most situations. And finally, The fourth- wait actually, the eighth reason is to play with different shutter speeds. If you change the shutter speed, it will capture moving above, and it will switch it to shutter priority, and it looks cool because it looks like only light is moving without the car being shown, even though it’s there. But anyway, Those are 4 key moments that I find helpful within the article.

Q: What early assumptions about your film have you left behind and why? What’s the single most significant way your thinking/strategy has changed? If you changed your idea during the project, discuss why?

A: To be honest, I don’t really know what to say. I don’t really think about changing any ideas during the project, but maybe, I might take a photo with a slow shutter speed to show that cool light, or I might take a picture of a different area of Cleveland, Ohio, like Columbus or Detroit or Akron, but the thing is, I have nothing to change in the night photography, and I will take picture of Cleveland Ohio since I live in Cleveland since I was bored, and I live in an apartment until we moved, so I gonna take picture of Cleveland, and the apartment, that’s all.
